What is Re-LEARN?

Re-LEARN (Literacy, Education, Activity, Readiness, and Nutrition) is a transformative, in-person academic and social-emotional program across our Clubs in Northwest Indiana. When age appropriate, members will also enroll in Career Academy, a college/career readiness program.

Who can participate?

Re-LEARN will enroll a limited number of students at our partner schools. See the list to view the schools.

When does the program run?

Spring 2022 to Summer of 2023.

Requirements

From Parents

The parents must agree to a data sharing agreement with BGCGNWI and the local school corporation. The shared info may include:

Grades (required)

Assessment Scores (required)

Disciplinary referrals

IEP (if applicable)

Member Requirements

At least 15 hours of educational programming each week. This will qualify them for the free field trip in the summer.

Each member is required to stay enrolled in the program and attend the Club throughout the summer.

Programming

SMART Girls, Keystone Club, activity-based STEM programming, Triple Play, Passport to Manhood, Summer Brain Gain and more.

All members will be pre and post tested for the programs.

A fun, educational summer that prevents learning loss while still getting outside and being a kid.

Free Field Trips

To places like the Art Institute, Field Museum, Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center. They will also take college tours (if age appropriate) to schools like Purdue University, Indiana University, Notre Dame, University of Chicago, etc.

FREE Summer Camp for Some School Districts

Through a partnership with BGC and the school districts, some students may qualify for FREE summer camp!

When the requirements of the Re-LEARN program are met, students from the following schools will qualify:
