PALS

Professionals Advancing Local Success (PALS)

A fun, young group making a difference in their work.

Our PALs group with our Youth of the Year Candidates from the Clubs. The PALS group mentors the youth candidates throughout the judging process.

What is PALS?

PALS is a group of young professionals who engage in local leadership opportunities, while becoming the next generation of community philanthropists. PALS works in partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Northwest Indiana to find and become involved with leadership, mentoring, and networking opportunities.

Who Are PALS?

  • Membership is comprised of young professionals ages 25 – 35 at time of nomination.
  • Members have been recognized as up and coming leaders in their professions.
  • Members are nominated by former and/or current Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Northwest Indiana Board members, PALS members, or community leaders.
  • Members have demonstrated commitment to and leadership in the community.

Event Involvement

PALS is responsible for raising their own funds to use throughout the year. The group may host fundraising events such as comedy nights, trivia nights or other smaller events to help fund their initiatives.

PALS plays a large part in preparing our youth for Youth of the Year, a national BGCA program. PALS helps the members with speech writing, public speaking and interviewing techniques.

Requirements

Every member will be responsible for an annual dues amount of $75.
